"My husband and I had been trying to conceive for twenty months and had been through a battery of tests that were all inconclusive. We did not know what was wrong we just knew that for some reason we were not getting pregnant. We started seeing a fertility specialist and started using acupuncture along with the treatments during our second IUI. That cycle was unsuccessful; however the third IUI resulted in a twin pregnancy!
I noticed that I was much less stressed during our successful cycle, and I believe it was due to the treatments. I am now fifteen weeks along and this pregnancy has been a breeze so far! I have been virtually symptom-free and have felt great!

"My husband and I had been trying to conceive for sixteen months before being referred to Indiana Reproductive Acupuncture. We had been monitoring my ovulation cycle (which was normal), tried Clomid, Clomid with estrogen and progesterone, and IUI. All fertility testing had returned normal results, and the doctors had no explanation as to why we were having trouble conceiving. We were extremely frustrated, and we really didn't want to proceed with IVF (which was the next step).
When I began treatment at IRA, I got pregnant in the first month! The treatments were also very relaxing and enjoyable, and I really appreciated David Youran's knowledge and encouragement. I am now five months pregnant and I am thrilled to say that by continuing treatment at IRA through my pregnancy I have had virtually NO symptoms! "By the time I found David through a brochure at my fertility doctor's office, I had a five year history with trying to conceive using Follistim. In that time, I had one child, but a series of recent miscarriages meant I was emotionally ready to only try one more time. I had a long history with PCOS and needed fertility drugs to induce ovulation. In addition, I never had a regular menstrual cycle during my adult life.
Knowing that this would be my last attempt to conceive, I started to see David weekly in January 2009 to prepare my body the best that I could for conception. What I didn't expect was that I received a spontaneous menstrual cycle 6 weeks after treatment started. My body proceeded to have consecutive menstrual cycles a month apart. I felt like my body was finally behaving like it should, and I was much better positioned to go into another round of fertility drugs. Sure enough, the last attempt was successful and I delivered successfully in September 2009.
Of course, I have to thank David for the effective treatments... I always looked forward to our sessions, given his caring and compassionate demeanor. It provided an hour of peace each week while trying to navigate a stressful time. Thank you David and Mary!"

"I am so thankful for David and his staff at IRA! David's support and calming presence, in combination with his knowledge of Chinese Medicine, was exactly what I needed to work through the emotional process of infertility.
When I started the IVF process, I did not know about Indiana Reproductive Acupuncture. After two failed cycles, I asked if there was anything else I could do to improve my chances for success. I was told about IRA by one of the nurses in the infertility office. Despite my anxiety, I decided to give it a try.
I got pregnant shortly after starting acupuncture treatments. Unfortunately, I suffered a miscarriage, but David was right by my side the whole time. I took a few months off from IVF, but continued to see David regularly. When I decided to try another IVF cycle, I became pregnant with twins and I am now six-and-a-half months along! "My husband and I had been trying to conceive for over three years, enduring eight cycles of Clomid assisted intrauterine insemination (IUI) without success. Finally, we accepted that we needed to go down the route of accepting donor eggs and IVF. This was a huge decision, and obviously an expensive option.
We wanted to optimize the IVF, implantation and success of the pregnancy as much as possible. As a skeptical medical doctor, I did a huge amount of research and discovered, to my surprise, that properly conducted clinical trials had shown that acupuncture can significantly increase the chances of success in these situations. I also discovered that David Youran specialized in acupuncture for fertility issues, and had reproduced some of these results in his own practice. So, I concluded acupuncture couldn't hurt, and there was solid evidence that it could help.
Thus, I embarked on acupuncture treatment with David before and after my IVF and implantation. I also had acupuncture at the time of the implantation procedure. At first pass, I am now thirty-seven weeks pregnant with twin girls (term for twins) and the Cesarean section is scheduled for this week!
I have no doubt that acupuncture played a role in maintaining my mental, emotional, and physical health, plus the health of my pregnancy, and babies throughout. I enjoyed David's calm, knowledgeable, professional manner, and his curiosity, personal interest, and desire to improve his expertise all the time. He was clear about where acupuncture
could and couldn't help.
As my pregnancy progressed, I also received massage at the clinic for my musculoskeletal aches and pains. Finally, David's clinic is a wonderful, relaxing place to be. His colleagues are all also professional, interested and helpful."

"We had been trying to conceive for about 15 months before visiting IRA. We had tried Clomid alone and in combination with IUI. In addition to infertility, I also suffered from Hypothyroidism and a terrible sleeping problem. I was taking prescription Ambien about three to four days per week for the last few years.
I was referred to IRA by a friend and patient of IRA, she had successfully conceived with their help. I really had no expectations for the acupuncture treatment. I was getting very frustrated with my infertility and thought I would give it a try. I was so thrilled with my treatment at IRA. Immediately after the first visit, I felt much calmer... the stress of infertility was at times overwhelming. I had also made the decision to stop taking Ambien. After just a couple treatments, I was sleeping soundly without medication for the first time in years! More importantly, after one month we conceived our first child!

"A friend told me about David Youran and Indiana Reproductive Acupuncture shortly after we found out our third IVF was unsuccessful. We were in the process of switching to our third infertility office and were in our fourth year of trying to become pregnant. I had tried acupuncture a couple of years before while living in Boston, so I was open to the idea of trying it again. My husband, a physician, wasn't a big believer in alternative medicine but figured it wouldn't hurt anything.
Within the first month of coming to IRA, we did our fourth IVF and unfortunately were not successful. I was in a state of shock because I truly believed that eventually IVF worked for everyone. At that point, I decided that my body and my mind needed a break from the hormones and procedures. I wasn't even sure if I wanted to continue down that treatment path anymore. I decided to start seeing David on a more regular basis and concentrate on acupuncture as a primary form of treatment.
